LHCI’s search process has been time-tested with the completion of over 450 assignments. Search Understanding

A successful search requires a comprehensive and clear understanding of your corporate culture and the specific type of candidate you require. We spend the necessary time upfront speaking to as many stakeholders as possible in order to refine the position profile and target companies.

Research Strategy

In collaboration with our client, we develop a target group of companies and create a list of executives who currently and previously have worked with these organizations. We utilize a four step approach to our research: “cold research”, social media (e.g. LinkedIn), sourcing and our database.

Outreach Program

Our team of search consultants, always including the Partner in charge of the assignment, will actively reach out to prospective candidates and sources through telephone calls, email and social media. We provide our clients with regular feedback and updates (weekly or bi-weekly) on the search according to their preferred lines of communication.

Qualifying and Interviewing

The Partner will interview every single qualified candidate. This crucial step is not and will never be delegated to a junior consultant or associate. By treating prospective candidates with the respect and attention they deserve, we demonstrate our and your commitment to the search.

The Short-List

After typically interviewing between 8-12 candidates per role, the Partner will then present our client with the best 3-5 candidates.

The Hire

Having established trust with candidates and clients through our commitment to providing a senior point of contact, we will manage the candidates through the interview process. The Partner will assist with the offer negotiation and complete all required background checks including references.

Follow Up

Your success is our success. By remaining in regular contact with both the client and the placed candidate the Partner will monitor the transition and placement with an eye to long-term success.


LHCI offers a fixed or percentage fee depending on the compensation, level of the role and complexity of the assignment.

Mandeep Grewal

Earning a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from McMaster University and an Master of Business Administration from York University’s Schulich School of business, Lakeshore Human Capital Inc.’s founder and managing partner Mandeep Grewal has established a proven track record for executing successful executive searches. With 18 years of experience, including over a decade with Korn/Ferry International where he became one of the firm’s youngest partners globally, Mandeep has developed strong relationships in business.

Affiliated with Rosenzweig & Co. for the past five years and more recently forming an alliance with HGM Search Partnership, Mandeep has conducted successful searches independently and as part of diverse teams. His energy, flexibility, diligence, enthusiasm, and hands-on research focus has differentiated himself in a competitive market.

Having completed over 350 assignments in his career, including Director to CEO-level searches for some of the country’s most well-known public and private companies, Mandeep has a breadth of knowledge of key Canadian industry sectors and has also worked successfully with clients internationally. At LHCI, his boutique search firm, Mandeep has prioritized taking on fewer assignments to ensure less conflicts while still maintaining comprehensive market coverage and flexible capacity through his alliance with HGM Search Partnership.

Mandeep has proudly served for three years on the board of Indus Community Services, a non-profit, charitable organization assisting new immigrants to Canada with settlement services. He is married and has two children.


Jacquie Varkony

Jacquie Varkony, is an HR professional with over 20 years’ experience in Executive Search and Human Resources.

After an initial career in property management, Jacquie launched her own business specializing in Executive Search, Human Resources & Marketing Consulting for leading Commercial Real Estate businesses in Toronto and Vancouver. After 5 years of significant growth and success, Jacquie sold the business.

She then spent the following 15 years as an Executive responsible for Human Resources, Marketing and Operations with some of Canada’s most successful Real Estate firms and REITs. Jacquie launched her second company specializing in Human Resources Consulting and Executive Search in 2018.

Having worked closely with top CEOs as their Human Resources Executive, Jacquie has identified and integrated many successful hires into executive positions many times over.  These roles have provided Jacquie the opportunity to be exposed to all functional areas of a business. Her unique combination of strategic business vision coupled with her innate sense of human capital talent has made Jacquie a strong partner in identifying successful executive placements.

Jacquie has completed her BASc, MBA and more recently completed a diploma in Artificial Intelligence Business Strategy at MIT in Boston.

Jacquie devotes her passion for volunteerism as a Board Member at the Toronto Cricket Club, where she often chairs many strategic and real estate related committees. Additionally she frequently volunteers for the school board and animal causes. She enjoys extensive adventure traveling and several sports with her family.


Lauren Mesaros

An Associate with Lakeshore Human Capital Inc., Lauren supports the team in conducting  a variety of searches for its clients.  

Previously holding positions in corporate branding and promotions, Lauren holds an Honours Bachelor of Health Science degree with a minor in Psychology from Western University. While at Western she travelled to Leeds, England for an exchange program, which focused on social work and workplace psychology.

In her spare time Lauren enjoys rowing, painting, spending time with family and friends and travelling.


Danielle Atkinson

As an Associate with Lakeshore Human Capital Inc, Danie supports the team in conducting a variety of searches for its clients.

Danie started her career in traditional human resources prior to joining Lakeshore Human Capital. Most recently as an HR Generalist, Danie has experience in all aspects of the HR umbrella including recruitment, payroll and benefits and Employee Engagement.

Danie holds her Bachelors of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University, a Human Resources Management Graduate Certificate from Sheridan College as well as her CHRP designation.

After attending university in Nova Scotia Danie has caught the travel bug. Outside her love for travelling she enjoys a good TV series, playing hockey and spending time with her friends and family.


Kim Florence

As the newest addition to the team, Kim is the Administrative Assistant for Lakeshore Human Capital Inc. Kim is responsible for office administration, superior client and candidate service, and for assisting the Partners with business development.

Kim brings over 20 years experience to the team, working in executive administration and project coordination. She has worked closely with internal teams while developing strong relationships with clients and vendors within the financial, real estate and property management industry.

During her spare time, Kim enjoys time at the cottage, sailing, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
